Discovery & Smart Feed
Discovery & Smart Feed
Discovery features help visitors find relevant recipes beyond standard archive filtering.
Smart search modes
Smart search modes control how aggressively MisePress interprets a query.
Common modes:
- Standard: simple search behaviour.
- Relevance: stronger matching and scoring.
- Balanced: relevance plus quality signals.
- Popularity: boosts recipes with stronger engagement.
- Personalised: can boost user context where available.
Ranking signals
Depending on settings and available data, smart ranking can use:
- Exact title match.
- Fuzzy title match.
- Ingredient match.
- Cuisine/course/diet match.
- Excerpt/content match.
- Average rating.
- Review count.
- View/popularity score.
- Featured recipe flag.
- Freshness.
- Saved/favourite context.
- Shopping-list context.
Typo tolerance
Typo tolerance helps queries like misspelled recipe names, ingredient names or partial words still return useful recipes. It works best after the search/discovery index is rebuilt.
Ingredient synonyms
Ingredient synonym matching allows related ingredient names to point toward the same recipe results where supported, such as tomato/tomatoes or aubergine/eggplant.
Smart collections
Use smart collections to place curated discovery sections around the site.

Trending recipes use recent activity and quality signals where available.
[misepress_trending title="Trending now" limit="8"]
Because you viewed
This block suggests recipes related to what the visitor has recently viewed.
