Search & Filters

MisePress provides archive filtering, standalone smart search, visual filters, smart ranking, typo tolerance and no-results handling.

Archive search

Archive search can search recipe titles, excerpts, content, ingredients, taxonomies and indexed discovery data depending on enabled settings.

Core options:

  • Keyword search.
  • Instant AJAX search.
  • Fuzzy matching for typos and partial words.
  • Relevance ranking.
  • Skeleton placeholders while loading.
  • Load more or infinite scroll.

Filter types

Available filters can include:

  • Cuisine.
  • Course.
  • Ingredients to include.
  • Ingredients to exclude.
  • Allergens to exclude.
  • Difficulty.
  • Diet.
  • Total time.
  • Nutrition ranges where Nutrition is active.
  • Seasonal filter where enabled.

Visual filter modes

Visual filters can render as chips, compact groups, collapsible filters or mobile drawers depending on settings. Mobile layouts are designed to avoid horizontal overflow.

Sorting

Sorting can include:

  • Default.
  • Latest.
  • Title.
  • Rating.
  • Popularity.
  • Prep/total time.
  • Relevance when a search is active.

Smart rotating placeholder

Pro smart placeholder mode rotates contextual placeholder examples, usually from recipes, ingredients or site content. When this mode is active, a custom placeholder field is not needed.

No-results state

When no recipes match, MisePress can show a clearer message and optionally suggest clearing filters or adjusting search terms.

Standalone smart search shortcode

Use:

[misepress_smart_search mode="balanced" smart_placeholder="1"]

or:

[misepress_smart_search placeholder="Search recipes, ingredients or cuisines"]
